Following a strategic review process conducted in 2003, Trustees adopted a longer term approach to core revenue funding for those projects/organisations they felt required extended investment in order to become established. Known as the ‘8-year model’ our intention was to offer security to developing charities with two rounds of 3-year grant awards followed by a tapering down of our grant funding in years 7 and 8.
This approach has proved to be successful with new charities now established within our area and attracting funding from a wide variety of sources. Following a more recent strategic review in 2014, Trustees agreed to continue using the 8-year model as a guide but not to be bound by it. Each application will continue to be judged on its merits.
